James Gow
On January, he born by his Mom & Dad at hospital in Brussels, Belgium. He was born and he was hearing.
Until he was 15 months old and when he was crawled at the kitchen behind his Mom was wash dishes or somethings. He bite a plug from a transformer and she saw him laid on the floor then she was screamed. His Dad read a newspaper or doing somethings at livingroom and he heard from his Mom's screamed at the kitchen. He ran and saw him. They bring him to their car, and they drive a car is a fast for hurry. They can't stop by a red light to keep going fast. They arrived hospital and his Dad hold him his arm around to run screamed "Doctor, Doctor ". Doctor get him to operation room. Some nurses and doctor were fixed his mouth so his parent was sat and worry at waiting room. Doctor take some little bone from his left ear to put on his nose/mouth. They fixed his mouth for 7 1/2 hours.
Until operation was finished then a doctor was walked by a hall to a waiting room. His parent say "How is their baby?" Doctor said "Their son is a very lucky. He was near to die but he's alive as well . He's fine now." His parent were happy that he was all right. They were come to se him at bed.
Until 8 weeks, he was released by hospital. His parent bring him home from hospital. They're happy with him at home.
When he was 18 months old, his mother was vacuum in his bedroom when he was sleeping. He didn't wake up. Later his mom was wash dishes and his dad wash dry towels at the kitchen and he was played some toys at the living room. His mom came to living room and she was start to talk him, "James, James " but he did not hear from his voice and he pay attention to play. She scream "James, James " but he don't hear from her voice so she was scared and worrying about somethings wrong with him. Dad & Mim bring him to the hospital, again. They meet their doctor and they told him that somethings wrong with him with his both ears. Doctor bring him to the room and he was checkup on his both ears.
Until doctor was finished to checkup his ears. He bring him to his parent wait room. They said "How is he?" Doctor said to them,"Wrll, he already become deaf because he did not hear anythings, anymore. He sorry". They were shocked and upset. They bring him home again. He was looked at his parent and he was smile at them.
In few years, later, he went to school for the deaf in England when he was 4 years old. The school was only oral, not sign language He didn't understand much.
Until they moved to from England. He was school for the Deaf in Ottawa when he was 6 - 10 years old.
He was moved to the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf in Belleville when he was 10 years old until he was graduate from school.
Now, he still love his parent do he understand what happened to him become deaf. He enjoyed sign language to communicate with deaf people.
His both ear did not heard from airplane, train, truck, nothing. His both ears is a very deaf.
He enjoyed communicate with some hearing people. He'd learn with them.
People ask him sometimes if he smoke because his teeth are funny colour. He say "No - not smoke.
That is from when he bite that plug it killed something in his teeth." That's why his teeth are funny colour.
MY COMMENTS: James is not cleft lip instead operation smiles from TV show.
MY COMMENTS: When James wore his hearing aid body when he was 6 years old then when he was 10 years old threw it at Mud Lake in the Summer 1974.
